Cleaning Your Outdoor Equipment

Regular cleaning will extend the life of your outdoor equipment and improve its performance. Ready to clean your equipment, but not sure where to start? The following tips can help! If you need more advice on cleaning outdoor equipment, feel free to consult the staff here at Flanagan's Outdoor Power Equipment. You can find us in Sherman, TX.

The Operating Manual

First things first: make sure to check the operating manual provided with your equipment for instructions on how to clean it. The manual may recommend certain products or techniques that are specific to your equipment model.

Cleaning Supplies

Some of the products you might need to clean your equipment include a mild detergent, a cleaning brush, a pressure washer or hose, and a soft towel. You should also wear safety gear to clean your equipment. We recommend full-length coveralls, waterproof work gloves, and eye protection. Rain gear is also a great idea if you want to keep from getting wet!

The Cleaning Process

Once you are all geared up, you can get down to business. Clean your equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions, and pay close attention to small nooks and crevices that can trap debris. If you are using a pressure washer, take care not to damage delicate parts of your equipment with the high-powered stream of water.

When your equipment has been washed and rinsed, you can let it air dry, or pat it down with a clean towel. A can of compressed air can also speed up the process.
